Dubbed "the journey of awakening", the group is on a mission to promote peace, inter-faith harmony and a sustainable environment. The group members walked up the 272 steps of the iconic Murugan temple and were seen stopping every seven steps before prostrating and touching the ground with their heads, while praying for world peace. The group, led by Pure Karma Buddhist Centre abbot Bema Dechian Doche Rinpoche, arrived at the temple at 7am and paid homage to the Hindu deities at the shrines here. "I hope that people in Malaysia will feel the need to practise their religion and realise its importance to the world," said Rinpoche, 54, yesterday. Since May 22, he has led a group of people to walk about 5km from 4am to 9am everyday. The centre's deputy chairman William Tan said the group chose to stop by at Batu Caves to show that all religions were equally good and to encourage people to practise their respective religious teachings. "We do not encourage conversion but emphasise the importance of understanding one another," he said. He added that the group planned to stop at a church in Brickfields next, followed by a Sikh gurdwara and mosque during their journey. Tan said in order to attain world peace, there should be inter-faith harmony, a healthy environment and no catastrophes. "We need to wake up and see what is around us. Without religion, we just put the blame on others but never ourselves," he said. The nationwide journey is expected to be completed by the end of the year. My first experience with JTC in last year August Post (Click Here). That time I volunteer myself as their photographer during the Kuala Lumpur Amazing race event. This time, they are coming back to Malaysia again, and William (My friend) will organize again the Kuala Lumpur Amazing Race for them once more (This could be the 3rd time for him to organize it). This Amazing race event meant for showing them our beautiful Malaysia. During the race, basically they able to interact with other Malaysian to get clue to the mission. Understand our Train timetable is not a difficult task for them, but to understand why KTM keep on delay on arrival really take them some time. Our Keretapi Tanah Melayu make them waited for more than 1hours for the whole journey from Midvalley to Batu Caves. I'm photographer of the day, but find hard time to explain why the train never show up on time. Welcome to Malaysia, all I can say… Batu Caves was the 1st station, they been assigned to completed some task within Batu Caves. Read through the Mission slip, understand the location, ask people around for the clue. They did good job to complete all the task.
I did complete climb up to the top yesterday, Phew… I'm also one of the champion too. The scenery so nice when you stand on top at the Batu Caves and look at Kuala Lumpur area. Wow, what a wonderful world. We ended the amazing race around 5pm, everyone enjoys the race and they found that Malaysian are kinda helpful and friendly. I enjoys the whole day event with their job, laughter and their funny faces when they can't get any clue. After all, the best experience that they can get in Malaysia is… Full Feed Generated by Get Full RSS, sponsored by Used Car Search. |
