| <b>Bandar Sunway</b> perintis Kitar Semula Industri | faqar Posted: 15 Oct 2013 09:01 PM PDT MAJLiS Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP) mengadakan interaksi dua hala dengan pemilik-pemilik premis perniagaan sekitar Bandar Sunway di Seberang Jaya ke arah merealisasikan projek perintis Kitar Semula Industri. Ahli Majlis bagi MPSP, Amir Md. Ghazali berkata, projek perintis itu dimulakan peringkat industri selepas pihak berkuasa tempatan (PBT) berjaya mewujudkan banyak program kitar semula membabitkan persatuan komuniti dan sekolah-sekolah sekitar Seberang Perai. "Program Komuniti Mampan berjaya mendapat kerjasama daripada banyak persatuan penduduk. Begitu juga program Green School berjaya disertai banyak sekolah di Seberang Perai ini. "Bandar Sunway ini dipilih sebagai projek perintis supaya kejayaan yang membabitkan pemilik-pemilik premis perniagaan di sini dapat diperluaskan di kawasan-kawasan komersial lain," ujar beliau dalam satu majlis interaksi di Perpustakaan Pulau Pinang di sini. Exco Pertanian & Industri Asas Tani, Pembangunan Desa dan Kesihatan, Dr. Afif Bahardin menyempurna perasmian majlis, manakala, Pengarah Perkhidmatan Perbandaran MPSP, Ir. Rosnani Mahmod pula menyampaikan informasi mengenai kaedah pelaksanaan projek perintis tersebut. Tiga Ahli Majlis MPSP lain, Tan Cheong Heng, Ahmad Tarmizi Abdullah dan Rezal Huzairi Md. Zaki turut hadir pada majlis interaktif tersebut. Tambah Amir, projek perintis ini antara lain menumpu pada usaha mengurangkan hasil sisa pepejal, kebersihan kawasan komuniti perniagaan serta menggalakkan aktiviti kitar semula. Dr. Afif yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri ADUN) Seberang Jaya pula berkata, projek perintis Kitar Semula Industri jika berjaya di Bandar Sunway, sekaligus, dapat mengurangkan belanja hangus MPSP yang kini direkodkan mencecah 40 peratus dari belanjawan keseluruhan PBT tersebut. "Untuk nak indah di sini (Bandar Sunway), perlu duit. Kita boleh ada sumber duit kalau kurang kos belanja sampah yang bernilai RM66 juta atau 40 peratus daripada bajet. "Itu yang kita nak buat di Jalan Todak Bandar Sunway...saya yakin pemilik premis yang datang hari ini akan jadi pemangkin pada projek perintis ini," ujar Dr. Afif. Dalam perkembangan lain, Dr. Afif berkata, gaya hidup bersih lagi sihat di Bandar Sunway mampu mengelak insiden empat orang meninggal akibat termakan ayam basi dalam satu kenduri di negeri dari berulang di sini. Insiatif terbaru itu sekaligus menyerlahkan komitmen MPSP dan kepemimpinan Kerajaan Negeri ke arah merealisasikan kempen Pulau Pinang Bersih, Hijau, Sihat dan Selamat. |

Syukur, diberi peluang untuk membantu sepasang usahawan. Suami dan isteri yang mengusahakan Tadika Islam berjenama Little Caliphs di Bandar Sunway. Nama khususnya ialah Tadika Khalifah Mentari berlokasi di Bandar Sunway. Sangat hampir dengan Sunway Pyramid dan Sunway Lagoon. Saya rasa kalau jalan kaki tak sampai 10 minit pun. (^_^) Ini merupakan kali kedua saya dapat bantu pihak Little Caliphs. Di Little Caliphs Lavender Heights saya diminta untuk menjadi pengacara majlis dan sekaligus berkongsi sedikit motivasi keibubapaan serta bernasyid. Di Little Caliphs Bandar Sunway pula saya dijemput untuk menjadi pengacara majlis. Syukur, saya dapat bantu menjayakan majlis ini bersama mereka. Saya agak kagum dengan pasangan suami isteri yang mengusahakan Little Caliphs Bandar Sunway ini. Dimaklumkan mereka berdua sudah berhenti bekerja sepenuh masa dari tempat kerja lama mereka dan kini mengusahakan tadika ini sepenuh masa. Bukan mudah untuk bergantung pada perniagaan sendiri secara tiba-tiba. Namun saya percaya mereka tentu sudah mempunyai perancangan yang tersendiri. Saya doakan mereka akan berjaya memartabatkan Tadika Islam di arena Bandar Sunway sekaligus menjadi usahawan yang sukses !!! Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer and Program Coordinator of the DHES (Education-focused) - SASS (Selangor - Bandar Sunway)
Responsibilities:
Education-Focused Level A academic staff duties will have an emphasis on:
- reviewing teaching activities and identifying and implementing strategies designed to improve outcomes for students;
- developing, applying and reviewing strategies through consideration of disciplinary and or learning and teaching research, and through effective collaboration with other staff at school level;
- working to disseminate disciplinary or educational innovations in documented, peer-reviewed activities and potentially participating in applications for competitive funding;
- undertaking a range of activities that contribute to maintaining currency with disciplinary and learning and teaching innovation;
- demonstrating efficient performance in allocated roles;
- taking on some responsibilities and contributing outcomes within school committees; and
- onset in developing external contributions to the community or to the discipline/profession.
Education-Focused Level B academic staff duties will have an emphasis on:- a developing record in the dissemination of peer-reviewed disciplinary or educational innovations;
- taking an active role in obtaining funding to support such activity and engage in individual or collaborative projects;
- playing a role in curriculum design and review at school or department level;
- potentially engaging in the effective collaborative design or implementation of cross-faculty or cross-campus teaching activities or projects;
- undertaking a range of activities that contribute to maintaining currency with the discipline and with learning and teaching innovation; and
- having some involvement in Honours and (where appropriate) Research Higher Degree supervision would normally be expected.
Requirements:
This one-year course provides intensive learning opportunities in problem-solving, analytical, and research skills that will prepare students for the challenges of tertiary level academic studies. Once they have successfully completed the DHES, they can proceed to second year study at an Undergraduate degree.
The successful applicant will be teaching the two core units of the Diploma, namely Academic Literacies and Learning in Higher Education. The position is also expected to assume the role of DHES Program Coordinator. The role encompasses course planning, course design and development. The position also involves providing help and advice to students on the content of the course.
The appointee will be expected to make significant contributions to teaching and research and supervision of honours and postgraduate research students along with other professional activities within the school.
