Job Description

  • Establishes and formulates assigned areas' plans and programs, objectives and commitments and prepares corresponding resource requirements (i.e. manpower, materials and supplies budget, etc.) for the attainment of the over-all Masteel Manufacturing Division's objectives.

 

  • Disseminates information, advises, instructs and confers with subordinates the plans and programs to be implemented, objectives and commitments, standard quality procedures, company policies, safety matters and other concerns affecting the assigned area and personnel.

 

  • Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of implementation of the assigned areas' plans and programs, objectives and commitments. Recommends actions to correct deficiencies and initiates studies and reports to update and/or improve work methods, job safety, equipment utilization and material substitution to facilitate over-all cost reduction and increased productivity.

 

  • Establishes performance standards for assigned areas personnel. Monitors and evaluates actual performance, conducts training needs identification and analysis and initiate s actions (i.e. seminars/training's, disciplinary actions, etc.) to correct deviations and to reinforce good performance.

 

  • Conducts technical studies aimed at further improving assigned area's productivity/performance.

 

  • Receives and assesses production schedule for a certain period and programs production run/sequence casting operation. Coordinates with all concerned areas in the preparation of required material and manpower resources to effectively implement the production schedule.

 

  • Coordinates with the outgoing/incoming Shift Engineer on the proper turn-over of functions, priority activities, equipment, material and manpower resources.

 

  • Receives reviews and assesses maintenance work schedules/repairs to be done during the shift and coordinates with all concerned areas in the preparation of required materials and manpower resources for effective and proper implementation of the maintenance activities.

 

  • Coordinates implementation, filling-up and submission of work related documents. Receives, reviews and verifies entries on heat logs, inspection reports, checklists, maintenance work orders and other forms as to completeness and accuracy of data. Initiates measures to correct any reported abnormalities.

 

  • Leads/participates in the troubleshooting of process and equipment troubles/abnormalities and selects/recommends logical course of action based on established principles, standard practices and/or appropriate circumstances at the occurrence of trouble.

 

  • Approves/disapproves overtime permits, leave applications, work schedules, material and supplies withdrawal requests.

 

  • Participates in the installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of new or repaired equipment.

 

  • Sets examples in imposing corporate values and creates/recommends programs that will motivate subordinates and foster an atmosphere of open communication.

 

  • Informs Plant Manager of any process/equipment abnormalities in the assigned are that will adversely affect plant productivity or shutdown the plant for a considerable duration.

 

  • Enforces company's Code of Conduct and safety rules and regulations among subordinates. Identifies and initiates necessary corrective actions on potential safety hazards of/to equipment/personnel in the workplace.

 

  • Implements housekeeping and maintains proper arrangement of loose equipment and materials in the workplace.

 

  • Performs other administrative, technical and/or managerial functions as required by the Plant Manager.

Job Requirement

Engineering graduate in any field.

At least four (4) years supervisory, technical and/or administrative experience in steel making operation. Preferably with the following special knowledge and skills: Basic computer operations, interpersonal skills and supervisory skills.
