| Eat #4 – Ah Or Chu Yuk Fun / Pork noodles | The Sweet Spot Posted: 13 Sep 2011 07:47 PM PDT Note: I will be moving next weekend, so expect lesser postings until the end of the month as I probably won't have time to do long recipe entries (aka the entremet and another plated dessert), but well, expect shorter posts and maybe some without recipes. ———- Oh hello! Continuing back on the eating out with a 'phone' project, here's another episode. Ah Or Chu Yuk Fun Restaurant in Sunway Mentari. It was quite a breezy day today and considering that the weather has had its ups and downs, this weather is considered perfect! (Er, at the point of me eating the dish, not at the point of you reading.sorry) So, I guess its in time for some soupy noodles with flavoursome pork cuts. Talking of Chu Yuk Fan (which literally means pork meat noodles), I've always thought one of the nicer places that has good Chu Yuk Fan was in Lucky Garden, Bangsar. Up until I discovered this place located in Sunway Mentari, (near Wisma TT). Braving the traffic, it's a pain to be in Sunway Mentari area. What more, the restaurant is ALWAYS packed during lunch time. So really, it's not recommended on a super hot day unless you wanna be in a public sauna. Heh. If you wanna skip the average waiting time of 20 minutes, be there early before 1pm. Skip the traffic and skip the wait, and enjoy the bowl of noodles.
Bowl of Chu Yuk fan with Kuey Teow (Pork with flat noodles soup) with egg. Flat noodles, minced pork, fried pork lard, small intestines, liver and egg all in a bowl of flavourful broth. Oh the egg!!! IT IS Z BEST! It's somewhat like poached but more liquidy, the yolk, once poked, leaks out into the soup and wraps around the noodles making it more silky.. OK being a little dramatic here..
