Hulu Kelang Lad: Panggilan Hangit Hot.fm

I just got back from Wangsa Walk to buy some stuffs. On my way home, I randomly pressed the channel buttons on the radio and happened to hit the Hot.fm, one of the radio stations in Malaysia.

One of the shows that this station has is called Panggilan Hangit, it's basically a prank call. On Era.fm, they have this show called 'May I help you?' or something, a prank call to test out the person's ability to speak in English, which is mean and hilarious.

This Panggilan Hangit however, is conducted in Malay, and as I continued listening to it while driving, it would say that this is way more horrible and frightening.

The victim today is Joe. The radio presenter, Faizal Ismail, with the assistance of this Joe's friend, Hafiz, pretended to be the husband of a woman who got involved in a traffic accident with Joe three months ago. This woman paid a compensation of RM 300, and in this call Faizal said he wanted to have the money back.

First, I must say that this Joe is quite a gentleman. He didn't retaliate at all at the harsh tone that Faizal was using when talking to him. I think that was why Faizal had to become more and more rude because this Joe wasn't alarmed at all when Faizal demanded back the compensation.

And that was actually why I kept listening because I don't think that Joe would get angry over this. He just kept saying that that was a while back and why on Earth suddenly this man (Faizal) rudely attacked him on the phone. He also kept asking Faizal to tone down a bit.

However, over time, I could sense that this Joe was losing his patience. He then offered to wire the money through his bank account. I think Faizal was running out of ideas now that Joe is willing to pay. He then said a commonplace 'pick-up' line to start a fight in Malay. "Kau tak puas hati apahal?"

Then Joe explained to Faizal that he was in KLIA to send off his mother in law to perform umrah. Then Faizal was like, oh I see, could you ask her to pray for me as well? This really cracked me up and Joe went clueless and said "What for?"

I found it really funny because, as the conversation was getting more intense and I had expected to hear yells and stuffs, this Joe innocently brought up the fact that he was with his mother in law. That alone made it clear what a good person he is. Couple that with the fact that he was sending off his mother in law to do umrah/pilgrim which could indicate this guy is somewhat religious and kind. I am pretty sure that was why Faizal decided to stop pranking him. haha

It was then revealed to Joe that he had got punked and Hafiz, was put on the phone. Then only I heard this guy cursed around and laughed. He also said that his mother in law sensed some negative vibes from his conversation on the phone and constantly giving him the weird gaze. LOL.

All in all, I think he did it quite good. I've heard many pranks before and some of the victims actually reacted pretty badly. Some of them are celebrities and that would be really embarrassing and unhealthy for their careers.
